I'm not a blogger. I'm definitely NOT an accountant. If you ask me what I do for a living, most of the time I say "math". My go-to is a shoulder shrug when someone asks. I don't enjoy writing or really even organizing my thoughts. I enjoy puzzles. And my favorite puzzle starts with a giant stack of marketing research or syndicated data that I can use to solve a problem for a client. I track trends and spend lots of time spewing statistics. I call what I do, Bean Counter Marketing. It's not flashy. Most of the time, it is not fun (except to me). But lots of cool insights come from it.
So that is why I am writing this blog. To share insights on topics that I see as current and emerging trends. Or to repackage insights that keep popping up. To help keep my thoughts organized in one place and hopefully someone else finds value in those thoughts. The writing probably won't be electrifying. It might be boring. Or too conversational. But the topics will be timely. The data will be factual. And I will be available to discuss and provide answers to questions that may come up from the posts. Hopefully, the posts help make business decisions and start new conversations.
